Dear Family and Friends of Stinson Students,
Welcome to Stinson! The following paragraphs give a brief overview of Stinson, and they will provide a clearer picture of what you can expect at Stinson Elementary.
As students move through their 3rd to 5th grade years, they are faced with many new challenges. The students have several teachers, an increase in homework, and Ohio State Assessments. This combination can create some apprehension for students and parents. Although we cannot prevent or avoid these challenges, we can foster a smooth transition by all working together. With your support, the teachers will do everything in their power to assist your child with these challenges.
Every student begins the school year with an assignment book and a red "take home" folder. The teachers will continue to remind the students to use both items daily. This is the best way for the students to be organized, responsible, and allow you to know what they are doing in school. We strongly encourage you to check your child’s assignment book, folders, and book bag nightly. Your child’s homeroom teacher may also be using a web page, Parent Square and/or Google Classroom to keep you updated on assignments and activities in the classroom. Ask your child which tool his/her teacher plans to use for daily communication. Children need a lot of parental support and encouragement!
Please do not hesitate to call or stop in to visit. Please e-mail me for quick and easy communication at Mariani.L@northwest.sparcc.org. Continue to check the websites monthly for updates on important news, dates and times. Our web-based grade book is available for you to check your child’s grades daily. If you have forgotten your password, please contact the office.
The more involved you are, the more success your child will experience in school. We are all part of a team to make certain your child receives the best education! I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Mariani
